Google One App for Mac: Is it Worth Getting?

In recent times, Google launched its own virtual private network (VPN) service called Google One VPN, which is available on both Android and iOS devices. However, I am unable to recommend it as worth getting due to a major limitation - it doesn't allow users to change their IP location.

Despite this drawback, the Google One VPN does offer some impressive features, including 100% no-logs policy, hiding of your IP address, and anonymization of all online browsing activity. Additionally, it encrypts your online data and keeps you safe on public WiFi networks by hiding your IP address.

One of the significant advantages of Google One VPN is that it is completely no-logs, which means that the VPN provider does not keep any records of your web traffic when you're using the VPN. This feature is crucial to ensure your online privacy and security.

Google has announced plans to bring its Google One VPN to macOS and Windows later this year. Currently, the service is available in 20 countries, including Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and the United States.

To use Google One VPN on your iPhone or iPad, you need to have a 2TB or higher 'Premium' plan ($9.99 a month or $99 annually). At launch, it was only available on Android phones, but now it has been expanded to iOS devices as well.

Despite its impressive features, I would argue that Google One VPN is not worth getting due to the inability to change your IP location. This limitation makes it less appealing compared to other VPN services that offer more flexibility.

Overall, while Google One VPN offers some useful features, its limitations make it a less attractive option for users looking for a reliable and flexible VPN service.
